Watkins Glen Athletics Protocol for Visiting Teams Arrival High School: • Bus will pull up to the front of the fieldhouse. • Coach will contact the athletic director upon arrival to be let in the building (via text message or phone call) no more than 30 minutes prior to the start of the game. o Rod Weeden, Athletic Director: (607) 275-7324 o Kai D’Alleva, HS Principal: (607) 377-7961 • Please have IAC Contest Sign-in Sheet ready, athletic trainer or other available staff member will check temperatures and check off each athlete, coach, and other personnel that are entering the building with your team • Team will be escorted to locker room if needed (students must be supervised if using the locker room). Only one team at a time. If a second team comes, that team will wait in the stands across from their team bench. • One Bookkeeper would be allowed to travel with team (Please make sure the name is on the IAC Contest Sign-In Sheet) • Only 2 coaches will be allowed in per team. • Bus drivers are not allowed in the gym. A place will be provided if they need a place to get out of the cold. Contact the Athletic Director if needed. Varsity and JV Contests ( WG Fieldhouse): • Chairs will be set-up for social distancing for your bench • The team not currently playing will be sitting on the opposing set of bleachers on marked sports that are social distanced (6ft or greater) o If the number of people in the gymnasium becomes greater than 50 people, they will be moved to an alternative location with the game streamed. https://ideas.gstboces.org/watkins/athletics/ • Teams are responsible for bringing their own water bottles, there is water refill station located in the fieldhouse lobby by the men’s bathroom. o If a player forgets a water bottle, please let the head table know. We will provide one for the game. • Masks must always be worn when playing or seated. Mask breaks will be given at agreed upon times while sitting socially distanced only. please bring extra masks as they may become saturated. The head table will have some extras for those who need one. Injuries during Contest: • Ambulance service is less than ¼ mile from the school in case a major event happens. We would call 911 for the dispatch. • To minimize spread, if coaches can get a player that is injured to the bench, please do so If not, please alert the head table to call for assistance. They can call the chaperone or Athletic Director for help. • Injury ice will also be provided on the sideline by the head table.
